Test Drive Meme

Comment here with your characters that you're thinking of bringing into LR, and tag around with other people to see how suitable they'd be for the game! As a note, these threads may be used for application samples, which are opening August 11th. So get your samples ready ahead of time with this meme! However, even if all participants are accepted with those characters, these threads will not be game canon. This meme is taking place in the setting of Darstone, so while you may leave your comment blank, I'd like to recommend you set up a scene or two in your initial comment. Some suggested settings are provided below, but make up whatever you'd like based off the setting pages! ⑴ Marketplace. There's a lot to do in the market-- not just buying goods and window shopping, but sitting down for a cup of coffee at an outdoor table, or getting a drink at a bar. ⑵ Housing. You've just gotten here and finally made it to your assigned apartment, but it turns out you have roommates, and they're one of them. ⑶ Adventuring. Whether out into the surrounding caves or taking a boat onto the lake, you're adventuring, maybe on a quest. Whoever's with you might be a member of your party-- or they might be trying to beat you to the reward. ⑷ Snow. What's snow doing in a cave? Isn't this weird? Well, Darstone is situated under a frosty mountain peak, and from time to time the local mages like to simulate the weather that's going on up above. That means there's some very light, fluffy snow falling from the cave ceiling right now. |

[ All in all, she really probably shouldn't be this friendly. It was horribly dangerous, as dangerous as anything in a world she's unfamiliar with. It's probably worth getting culled for, but she's sharp and easy on her bare feet and not even a massive, adult blueblood will break her stride.
She turns and takes a few steps, and suddenly scoops up a handful of that chilly snow.
And, unsurprisingly, an ill-formed snowball is suddenly arcing towards his chest. ]

[The snowball ends up splattering on the cave wall rather than on Darkleer; he was there, and then he wasn't, the air where he'd been just a moment before seeming to shimmer for a split second before going back to normal. He didn't flashstep; he'd just used the Void to his advantage and gotten out of the way, a technique that's saved his life more times than he can count.]
[He's behind Feferi now, ankle-deep in the snow, watching her bemusedly and seeing if she figures out what just happened.]

Okay, she didn't actually figure that one out, but she did whirl around in baffled confusion with a distinctly offended glubglubglub.
And oh! There he is again! She darts forward to scoop up more snow with a gleeful (if unnervingly predatory) whoop. ]

[Darkleer voids out of the way again, and this time moves farther away, but into a tree. Once there, he crouches down, making himself as small and inconspicuous as he can, hoping she'll go away.]

Good job, Darkleer.
Well, she'll have to hunt him down then, won't she? Except he's very good at this and she's not entirely sure she'll succeed. That wouldn't do at all, she had found him quite interesting in the short interaction just so far. ]
Hey, you conch just disappear entirely!
no subject
[There. Fixed that for you.]
[Darkleer stays in the tree, watching her look for him. He's not giving away his location so easily, even if she doesn't seem particularly intimidating.]

Admittedly, she is very dangerous in general, but she's obviously not bombed anything. She prowls around in the snow for a bit, even circling the tree, but she doesn't look up yet.
She does eventually plop down at the base of the tree with a disappointed whine, however. ]

And then she looks up.
And grins. ]

[Time to do the only sensible thing and use the voidy thing to get the hell out of here!]
whoops wrong journal
She springs, small and wiry but with that alarming seadweller speed and strength on the land. She was going for it, quite sure that if she somehow managed to tackle an adult that it'd do no harm.
And if she didn't, that poor tree was going to suffer some severe damage. ]

[He reappears several yards away from the tree, in the snow, looking back to see what happened.]

You're a glubbing cheat, you are. You know you are. I want to play in and you're nofin but a ghost.
[ She glubs to herself. ]
The quietest and fastest of ghosts, water you even doing to me? I'll chase and chase and catch air and frozen water and no more.
no subject
No cheat. Void.
[His voice is a low, deep rasp. He pauses, then adds.]
No play.

[ And without giving any indication that she's about to act, she tears off at him. ]

No play.
