This meme is taking place in the setting of Darstone, so while you may leave your comment blank, I'd like to recommend you set up a scene or two in your initial comment. Some suggested settings are provided below, but make up whatever you'd like based off the setting pages! ⑴ Marketplace. There's a lot to do in the market-- not just buying goods and window shopping, but sitting down for a cup of coffee at an outdoor table, or getting a drink at a bar. ⑵ Housing. You've just gotten here and finally made it to your assigned apartment, but it turns out you have roommates, and they're one of them. ⑶ Adventuring. Whether out into the surrounding caves or taking a boat onto the lake, you're adventuring, maybe on a quest. Whoever's with you might be a member of your party-- or they might be trying to beat you to the reward. ⑷ Snow. What's snow doing in a cave? Isn't this weird? Well, Darstone is situated under a frosty mountain peak, and from time to time the local mages like to simulate the weather that's going on up above. That means there's some very light, fluffy snow falling from the cave ceiling right now.

[It's snowing out-- snowing. Something Willow has only seen once at home, on that crazy day in Sunnydale, a freak magical accident at the time. Here it's more normal, but it hasn't lost the sheen of novelty for her.

She comes gleefully tearing out of her office building and into the street, where it's piled up to a foot or two deep. Maybe she knocks into you by accident, or maybe you interrupt her happily making what looks like a strangely shaped snowman, but she's not easy to miss in her enthusiasm.]

::He's quite familiar with snow, having grown up in a cold place, but there's still something... well, pleasant about snow. How it just covers everything and makes the world look pretty.

That, and it's probably one of the best things ever to use to simulate warfare without running the risk of seriously hurting someone. Even if actual fighting is one of the most awesome things ever, more people can be talked into a snowball fight than a war.

So he's working on building a snow fort when he gets run into by the aforementioned gleeful redhead running out into the street. Hope you don't mind the personification of a Nazi territory, Ms Rosenberg.::

[Acacia is running quickly, boots clacking on the stone. Behind her a large, almost horse-sized snake is weaving along after her, fast and persistent. She is far from a front line fighter, and there aren't any corpses around for her to use her necromancy on to make a minion out of-- and the snake isn't sentient enough for her to effect with her other skills.

So she's definitely in trouble, trying to control her breathing as she runs and swerves around a bend in the tunnel. Whoever she runs into is going to have their hand grabbed and pulled along without asking for permission.]

Can you fight? Please tell me you can fight.

[For a troll of his competence and STRENGTH, it wasn't difficult to exit the bounds of the city and make his way to the farms he had heard were just outside. The realm of the cave makes him long for the open spaces and fields... and frolicking hoofbeasts.

Oh yes. The frolicking hoofbeasts.

He grips the fence, looking out over the herd. But there's nothing but carapaced lobster-like mounts. No swishing tails. No rippling manes. No powerful, vibrant beasts to be seen!

With an angry snort and a shriek of nails and tortured wood, he rips the board in his hands free]

[Darkleer has been following this one; not only does he wear the same sign, but he even looks similiar and acts the way he did at a young age. Perhaps there is something to the legends of ancestors and descendents after all... he certainly did his duty for the drones enough times to have contributed to the slurry.]

[He stays hidden though, perched high in a tree, Archermedes in hand, looking down and watching the young troll from behind his dark glasses.]

[Most of the Archeradicators hate snow. While it can serve as cover, it also limits visibility, slows advancement, and can be used against them as easily as it can be used to their advantage. Whenever a mission arose that involved the snowy parts of Alternia, it used to be a mad scramble of Pass the Boonbuck until some poor soul got stuck with it.]

[That was before Darkleer rose through the ranks.]

[He likes the snow; some have even said, in jest, that it's the only thing the enormous, hulking troll has ever loved... but never within his earshot. He grew up in the mountains, chasing his thunderhoofbeast lusus from peak to peak, and snow is as much a part of him as his blue blood and the legendary bow that is never far from his side. It seems, sometimes, that the snow loves him too, swirling around him and concealing his movements, barely dipping in when he walks on it, the crust of the snow never breaking beneath his footfalls. It was his abilities in the snow that helped him escape, after that night in the arena, the night of the Signless' execution, the night when his world shattered all around him like ice under a crushing fist.]

[He's in the snow now, crouching in a corner of the cave, letting it fall softly on his shoulders and in his thick hair. For someone so large and conspicious, there's a sense of absence around him, like you could look right at him and immediately forget he was there.]

[ Snow! It was an idyllic, quiet scene for all of a moment.

It was all fluffy and white and maybe even a little chilly even to her own terribly cold blood. And Feferi exalts with a cheerful series of glubs as she dances about in it. She's shoeless, wearing a ratty jacket with her tyrian sign over an equally unkempt shirt and skirt that barely reaches her knees.

She spins and twirls and slips off of a ledge when she catches sight of someone below only to land in a little drift of the bright white snow. ]

It's fintastic, isn't it?

[ With that little shout, she ventures closer with her eyes alight with interest. Maybe she should have not paid much mind to the massive blueblood-- they were dangerous and lewd, she'd been told by her moirail-- but it was all just too exciting. ]

Derek Hale | Teen Wolf

[Derek was tense after getting into this strange new world. A cave. What on earth... and why him? Of all the people to pick out of the universe, and he was tugged away. His pack back in Beacon Hills was leader-less, and the Argents were after him and his pack. While he trusted his pack, he didn't know if they could stand up against the hunters. It was a lot on his mind. Heaven forbid anyone pissed him off in the current state he was in.

All this magic stuff, and this blasted mirror he had... it was unbelievable. But with these ideas of quests, and a possibly getting back home was promising.

For now, at the apartment, Derek seeks out his room. He finds the correct room number, using his key to open the door...]

[It's probably not a very comforting sight, finding Toph sitting on the couch, bare feet propped up on the coffee table in front of her. They're noticeably dirty-- the rest of her isn't all that clean either-- and she's picking at her teeth with a toothpick when he comes in.

But she puts it down, turning her face in surprise at his arrival.] They finally put someone else in here? Who're you? [She's blunt, shameless, and undeniably curious.]

[Raising a boney digit to trace along the city's stone pathways, a green skeletal form can be seen eagerly wandering the alleys.]

“it seems once more no amoUnt of specUlation will ever prepare me for what really comes. sUch Unique architectUre! coUld yoU be part of a game yoUrself I wonder?”

[It is no Prospit, but to Calliope, a world she is free to roam without the tug of the chain on her leg- without the ever-ominous presence of her Brother's psyche in the back of her mind- the dim hallowed streets of Darstone might as well be as bright as a thousand dying suns.

There is of the course the pickle of her makeup kit and wig not making the journey with her.

One of the perils of being the muse of space- in seeing the beauty and grandeur of all things in all worlds- you learn how alone you- a different species- truly are.

A troll wouldn't be caught dead talking to a green skullbeast any quicker than a human would accept a cherub at a first glance. If she is to truly be of aid to this city as expected, she will have to tread lightly- and out of sight. All the same, she couldn't possibly stay cooped up in her apartment forever and so, against her better judgment, Calliope takes to the streets in the dead of night.]

You don't last all that long in Starfleet if you have a heart attack every time you see a new alien species. Now, admittedly, a green skeleton sort of creature is a bit stranger than most of what he's seen, but he can still say he's seen even weirder than her.

Which is why when he spots Calliope when he's sitting outside, getting some fresh air -still something of a novelty after being aboard a ship and prior to that inside a run-down outpost- whilst he works on an equation that could potentially make a warp core even more efficient, curiosity gets the better of him.::

[If there was one thing Roxy wasn't able to do while growing up, it was to enjoy some of the simpler things. There were a lot of things that she was finally able to enjoy while being here, one of them being the freedom.

While she had began to adjust to this strange place, she was still getting used to so much. For today, there was something happening outside... This is real snow! Whatever she was doing is now disregarded, she's going out and embracing it! She doesn't even care if she's currently in her current outfit. She's got a scarf, and she'll be alright to play for a little while!]

[The moment currently finds her running at top speed in The Steps, jumping carefully from place to place if the need arises. She's also not about to be able to stop too quickly, so being in her path probably isn't the best of ideas. She drops from one tier to another, rolling to her feet after the fall, and pops upright with a grin and laugh before continuing at full speed past a pair of Chocolina standing nearby.]

Quest is waiting, sorry!

[Tails was beginning to set things up in his new apartment. Currently it seemed like nobody was in there, but Tails wasn't paying attention either way, fiddling around with random nuts and bolts he'd found while exploring the area and swishing his tails around.

He is susceptible to bugging by roommates or otherwise.]

[Derek was just returning from having gone out to get some supplies, a bag in hand. He hadn't really set up his room yet, having wanted to get supplies first. He steps inside before he notices a...

Two-tailed fox.

He couldn't help but stare for a moment and shakes his head, blinking, as if to snap himself out of it, but the fox was still there. This whole place was messed up anyways, might as well go along with it.

The werewolf steps inside a little more and clears his throat loudly, to get the fox's attention. He... wasn't sure if it could even talk.]

[Axe Cop had begun to grow bored with his time here. He had no bad guys to kill for so long now, and while that should be a good thing, it was giving this man less and less to do that was in the norm for him.

So he had decided to take it upon himself to find new bad guys to defend the residents of Darstone from.
He was going to go on an adventure into the unknown depths of the world around him that he'd never ventured into before. There were very likely some threats out there the residents had not been made aware of just yet.

[Dirk isn't exactly sure what is up with this guy, but from what he could tell he was a pretty cool dude. A little odd, but hey, isn't everybody? After their meeting before he had been awarded some sort of badge, and apparently made into a cop--at least by this guys eyes, and Dirk could roll with that. And just like his apparent "partner", he too was given a cop name. Rump Cop. A name befitting to one who's wielding a smuppet in the name of justice.]

[With agreeing to help in the pursuit to stop bad guys, Dirk finds himself joining Axe Cop in a quest. He's not exactly sure if this quest really has anything to do with bad guys, but hey, why not join this hilarious and somewhat intriguing guy. They are partners, right?]

So, this quest... You're certain we're gonna find us some bad guys? And we're finally gonna be able to put the stop down on them like a couple a loose canon cops with nothing to lose?

[Dirk's honestly not even sure if this guy really IS a cop, but in the name of irony, he's gonna stick with this to the end.]

[Well this was an interesting turn of events. Sain had been on his way back to Heaven's Garden when he found himself in.... some sort of town it seemed. He hadn't been outside of Heaven's Garden much; every now and then he would wander out to watch the humans in their little villages but that was it. He's never stepped foot in a town except to retrieve the chosen bride... and since it hasn't been time for the new ceremony, he decided to take the time to get a good look around.

He looked into the windows of buildings and peeked his head into doorways, oohing and ahhing every now and then at things that really caught his interest. When a human would get near, he wasn't quite sure if he should let them see him so he quickly ducked behind a building or a tree until they passed. He was an angel, after all. A messenger from the skies. He wasn't supposed to bother humans until the ceremony...]

[If you happened to be walking by in the Marketplace, though, he's stopped to look at something again. Only he's a bit less aware of the presence of others, seeing just how infatuated he is by whatever he's looking at.

His wings are even fluttering every now and then happily.]

[Gamzee has never been in a city this big before. Actually, scratch that. Gamzee has never been in a city before period. He lived too far removed from the cities to go visit them, and his ol' goat had prefered to keep him high in the mountains where no misfortune --aka a highblood with a twitchy culling finger-- could befall him. As a result, he's just standing at the stall, taking in the sight as if it is a completely magical thing to behold, a childlike sense of wonder in his eyes, and a low rumble in his stomach. Hush, he is a teenager. Hunger is just his ever present companion.]

[It really is odd being in a marketplace like this, so many people around, so much life, organic life, to be specific. He's had his robots, after all, but there's something so oddly different about it all. These are beings not ran by programs, and while he wagers his robots are just as much alive as these people, the atmosphere, the feel of it all, is so different and unfamiliar. Could almost make a cool kid uncomfortable, and maybe it does, a little.]

[Not that there's an ounce of it on display anywhere. Instead, he's silently looking around and exploring, minding his own business for the most of it. He's just observing, seeing what he never could back on Earth, back in his oceanic prison. For all his stoicism, he does look somewhat odd(in a way other than those pointed shades, his spikey hair, or the t-shirt with an orange hat on it). Almost like a piece that doesn't exactly belong, and maybe a lot of people who have showed up here are like that, but something about him speaks volumes of his unfamiliarity with such a social situation, like the busy Marketplace.]

[Sollux is just as overwhelmed with the market place atmosphere as Dirk is, if not more so. He's never seen this many people before, or been in this much AIR before, or this much... everything. He's pretty much so overwhelmed he doesn't even see himself back up...

So don't mind her as she stops and stares- and then lets out a startled laugh before slapping a hand over her mouth.

[A cool whistle rang past his lips as he eyes casually fell over the market place. It was weird seeing everything so lively. Usually everything was much drearier. Much more subjection and highblood 'order' going around. Not like this.

Nah, here there was food a plenty and people bustling about all happy and stuff. It was nice. He liked it.

So don't mind the grey guy with over-sized horns and large wings to sport. He's just going to lean up against the wall and take it all in for a bit. Enjoy it. Maybe watch other people in curiosity.

Not like he really had any spare change to buy anything himself just yet. He'll get to that later.]

[The Disciple has been winding her way through the marketplace, eyes wide at the variety of goods on display - and apparently available to be bought by everyone too! She'd never had access to even a tenth of such a selection on Alternia in spite of her relatively comfortable caste, and she can't help but marvel at the wealth of this place.

What really catches her attention, though, is a large wicker basket and the mewling coming from inside, and everything else fades away as she approaches it.

Anyone passing by right now will be able to see an oliveblooded troll in a worn tunic and leggings bent over said basket, arms full of kittens begging to be petted.]

[Ah snow, this is something John is more than familiar with. You get lots of snow in New York. Snow inside of a cave on the other hand...now that's a little strange. But you know what? He's not going to question it.]

[Instead, he and Cheryl the salamander are going to make snow-phantoms and snow-salamanders instead. Well, okay. John's going to make them and Cheryl's just going to attempt to eat the snow. And roll around in it a little too.]

What he doesn't know is this weird, odd, pale-pink, hornless... something that is rolling around in it along with its... was that its lusus? Man, this was a fuckin' weird ass day.

And to be honest, Gamzee has gotten so caught up in staring, he's doing no attempt to either hide himself or initiate conversation with John. Nope, for now. Just staring.]

Misfits | Alisha Bailey (OU)

[Alisha had seen and experienced a plethora of odd, supposedly-inhuman things over the past few months: the electrical storm, people contracting strange powers, murderous probation workers, time travel, and even immortality. However, absolutely nothing compared to what she had experienced this very day in this very peculiar place.

The fear, confusion, anger, and drawn-out strings of cusses that poured from her heart and mouth upon her arrival had left a rather unpleasant taste in her mouth. Simply put, it was too much, the place was too alien, and she was much too far away from the life she had been taken from.

Needless to say, her bad and touchy attitude hasn't dissipated in the least since her arrival. Perhaps though, she'd have one saving grace; perhaps she would find a nice, empty, quiet house to herself, a place to get away from the strange and surreal surroundings and people. What a shame it is when she enters the building and finds that the odds clearly aren't in her favor. "Roommates" has suddenly become an unwanted word in her vocabulary.]

[Disciple is sitting crosslegged on the couch and pouring over a large book with a well-used cover, a worn down pencil end scrawling little additions to the text here and there. She's so absorbed in it that she hadn't really paid attention to Alisha coming in, so it's with a startled look that she tears her gaze away from her writing and stares up at her.]

Oh! Hello. Is something wrong? [Her pose turns wary - she's met others of this species before and they didn't seem particularly aggressive, but no troll reaches adulthood if they trusted anyone too easily.]

[ Having misplaced his lyre upon arriving, Hephaestion is now walking through the marketplace looking for a replacement. He stops briefly every once in a while in front of a shop before moving on to the next, finally stopping for good when he finds what he's looking for - a music shop.

[Having only recently arrived in Darstone, Spirit still hasn't quite figured out where everything is. As a result, he has been aimlessly wandering around the marketplace for the past twenty minutes.

He pauses as he passes by a small music shop, having noticed a man standing in front of it, looking purposeful, but apparently hesitating. Maybe he was another newcomer. With that in mind, Spirit turns to offer the man an amiably inquisitive smile.]

What's an adventure if there isn't a little blood shed? A piss poor excuse for one, that's what!

[The nation isn't entirely sure what has gotten him into the crowded market area but, to be frank, he hasn't been paying attention a lot about where he has been going. Stopping short in order to observe some of the people to go about their own business, Germany can't help but frown.

[Snow! It's everywhere! Like fluffy, cold clouds coating everything! Not really something Deasta sees a lot, considering he lives in Hell - so of course he's checking it out, despite how freezing cold it is.

Jumping out of snowbanks, pushing heaps of it off rooftops, tossing it at people - he's doing everything to be annoying, of course. It's his job as a Demon! Hehehe.

Though, considering all he has to keep him warm is his thin wings and even thinner spandex jumpsuit, he does hide away for warmth after a while. Christ in a Chrysler Crossfire, it's cold -]

]Ah, the cold was nice. Sain may live on top of a mountain, but not even he had seen snow before. They live on a tropical island, after all. It is almost always sunny.

He is wearing a nice warm jacket and scarf and enjoying a walk when suddenly a snowball goes flying right at his head.]

[He looks around and yep, there's Deasta's hair poking out from behind a mound of snow.]

[Adapting to Darstone has been weird, to say the least. First off is the simple act of being here, in another world, full of foreign species even weirder than the humans were. And in a cave! Who actually wants to live in one of those, save kittycat shipper girls? Then there's the assigned (shared) housing - why couldn't they just give him his own hive like he deserves? - and worse yet, the stubborn insistence of everyone that magic is real and responsible for damn near everything. It's a miracle they've even survived this long in their ignorance, though, thinking too hard on miracles isn't something he's been keen on.]

[But not all of it's bad. He's safe her for one - not that he can't defend himself, far from it. In this place carrying out and convincing people of his plan is utterly unnecessary. There's no demon to worry about, to flee from or join. There's no corpses of former friends who wouldn't go with him.]

[No one said he lived a happy life before.]

[Presently, the one mild highlight of his evening (there may be no sun down here, but old habits are hard to kick) is a cup of coffee. This place makes it well enough, and he sits sipping at it at a table before the storefront.]

[Settling in certainly isn't easy for anyone, not for Eridan, and not for Dirk either. Having not really been so used to so many people in one place, it's a bit nerve racking, hell, it would be for anyone coming from Dirk's previous situation. But Dirk isn't one to show that, not even a little bit.]

[But when he stumbles across a troll sipping coffee alone at a table, and his curiosity is piqued. It was a troll that laid waste to Earth, but not just a troll, a sea dwelling troll, and here before him is one such troll. He's definitely... interesting looking to put it plainly. Cape, scarf, striped pants, those... shoes. There's no way this guy can be for real, this shit's gotta be high class irony. So, maybe he's not as bad as the batterwitch, considering he's there dressed like some Harry Potter character, sipping coffee and not exactly... trying to murder any human that happens to pass by. Just more reason to keep the Baroness as a separate entity from the rest of the trolls that may show up in this place.]

[However, the more he looks at him, the more he's thinking this isn't actually irony at play. And if that's the case, that just solidifies his reasons for approach, because that makes this troll that much more hilarious.]

[So, despite his own lack of any real social experience, he makes his way over, grabbing at the back of one of the empty chairs at Eridan's table, pulling it out and taking a seat. His expression completely void of emotion, per usual, eyes hidden behind those pointed shades of his as he looks at the troll from across the table.]

I never would have pegged trolls to have an appreciation for coffee.

[He lets that out easily enough before:] So, what's the deal with you? Cape, scarf, oxygen depriving pants; this a usual fad for trolls, or are you a special case?

[His voice stays even, his tone not necessarily mocking, but there isn't that usual sound to it that suggests humor either. It is possible he's legitimately curious, and maybe he is, but his tone, or lack thereof, leaves the intent entirely open for interpretation.]
