This meme is taking place in the setting of Darstone, so while you may leave your comment blank, I'd like to recommend you set up a scene or two in your initial comment. Some suggested settings are provided below, but make up whatever you'd like based off the setting pages! ⑴ Marketplace. There's a lot to do in the market-- not just buying goods and window shopping, but sitting down for a cup of coffee at an outdoor table, or getting a drink at a bar. ⑵ Housing. You've just gotten here and finally made it to your assigned apartment, but it turns out you have roommates, and they're one of them. ⑶ Adventuring. Whether out into the surrounding caves or taking a boat onto the lake, you're adventuring, maybe on a quest. Whoever's with you might be a member of your party-- or they might be trying to beat you to the reward. ⑷ Snow. What's snow doing in a cave? Isn't this weird? Well, Darstone is situated under a frosty mountain peak, and from time to time the local mages like to simulate the weather that's going on up above. That means there's some very light, fluffy snow falling from the cave ceiling right now.

[He shuffles his feet a little, frowning.] I'm not certain where she is, but the last time I saw her she was in danger. A highblood subjugglator was rampaging.

Oh light, why didn't you say so? We need to look for her! Haven't you ever seen what a... [No, she doesn't want to scare him by describing what a subjugglator was capable of.] Come on, perhaps I'll be able to sniff her out, there aren't that many other trolls here and no other olivebloods that I've seen so far.

Ah, no. [He raises a hand quickly] When I saw her, she wasn't here in the city. It was back on an asteroid. And believe me, I know very well what a subjugglator can do.

[whomheloved]

An asteroid? But aren't you too young to have been sent off-planet yet? [She's looking confused but still poised to go searching, scenting the air to see if she can find any more trolls in their vicinity.] I still think we should look for her, perhaps she's been brought here as well. I'm sure you'd be happier to know she's okay, right?

It's sort of complicated. [But he nods awkwardly] I am worried about her. I suppose she could be here.

Let's go then. What kind of places does she like, where do you think she'd go if she really is here? And what does she look like? You said I remind you of her.

She likes caves. [Uh. Not helpful] And foolish roleplaying, and tea parties, as well as hunting animals for food. [He racks his brain] She looks exactly as you must have looked at six sweeps.

[whomheloved]

She sounds just like I was at six sweeps. [She blinks at the strangeness of the similarities, wracking her brain for what might have drawn her interest back at that age.] Does she like purrbeasts as well?

[He smiles ruefully] Very much so.

There were little purrbeasts in the marketplace, small and friendly and noisy. If she scented them, do you think she might have gone there? [It was what Di would have done when she was six, after all.

That sounds like the sort of thing she would do. [He starts off in the direction of the marketplace] It seems to me that you must be Nepeta's ancestor...

[She laughs, startled and a little taken aback.] Oh, no, no, it can't be, that's impossible...

Why is that impossible? [He looks at her, earnest and serious] I'm certain that the mythology is true. And you share her symbol, as well as many traits in common. You could be her ancestor.

I've heard about it, mostly among higherbloods, but... it's hard to explain. [Her 'matesprit' couldn't exactly contribute to the slurry, so neither did she. But that's not something safe to say to a blueblood she barely knows.] I never really passed on my - wait, she even has my same sign?

Yes, she does. [He gives her a confused look] My neighbour, Vriska Serket, found a journal she believed belonged to her ancestor. So I suppose I'm more inclined to believe it than most.

Perhaps I should wait until I actually meet her for myself. [Though if her moirail, the person who should know her the best, was so convinced of their connection - well, Di really doesn't know what to think! She must admit that the thought of a descendant is really rather sweet, especially one who resembles her so closely. She wonders if she likes drawing and writing as much as she does too...]

Perhaps that's wise. [He expects Nepeta will probably be over the moon]
