This meme is taking place in the setting of Darstone, so while you may leave your comment blank, I'd like to recommend you set up a scene or two in your initial comment. Some suggested settings are provided below, but make up whatever you'd like based off the setting pages! ⑴ Job Hunting. If you don't want to stay in the assigned housing, then you're going to need cash, and if you want cash, you're going to need a job- lucky for you there seem to be plenty of those on the job board. ⑵ Arriving/Housing. You've just gotten here and finally made it to your assigned apartment, but it turns out you have roommates, and they're one of them. ⑶ Adventuring. Whether out into the surrounding caves or taking a boat onto the lake, you're adventuring, maybe on a quest. Whoever's with you might be a member of your party-- or they might be trying to beat you to the reward.

[She nods for emphasis, grinning.] I've spoken to him a few times, and he speaks of you so very fondly. He's going to be so happy you're here! And I'm really happy I'm getting to meet you, I've wanted to so much...

He better be imclawsibly happy to see me or I'm going to smack him so hard! [she giggles, much more at ease. if Equius was here (and friends with Disciple) then everything would probably be ok]

I just hope I live up to your expectations! I've never had somebody who wanted to meet me specifically.

Somehow I don't think there'll be any need for you to do much smacking! [Di giggles in response as well, the sound an echo of Nepeta's own giggling.]

Oh, no, don't say that, I don't have an expectations for you to live up to! I just wanted to get to meet you and talk to you, perhaps for us to be friends. That's all.

I hope not! That'd be a shell of a way to say hello in a completely new universe.

I'd really like if we could be friends. [Nepeta didn't really have that many, given her circumstances. the idea of making another is always thrilling] And I think that we'll be talking a clawful lot, all things considered.

Of course we will! We're going to be hivemates after all. [And Disciple is dying to share Equius' theory that she and Nepeta may be ancestor and descendant, but she knows it's too much to spring on her when she's only just arrived.] Have you been settling in all right? Would you like me to show you around?

I've been doing pretty well, I think. It's not the first time I've had to move suddenly. [this is much better than Medium -> Veil, however]

But I'd love to have a tour with you or something! I was sort of in a hurry to find my new hive and didn't get to explore everywhere I wanted to.

I know what that can be like. We were almost always on the move back home, we rarely got to settle in anywhere.

But we get to make ourselves comfortable here at least! Here, let me show you around the hive first, and then we can go outside if you'd like.

I'd like that a clawful lot, thank you. [she finally comes all the way away from the doorway, although still not close enough to touch]

It must have been really exciting to travel and see so many new places, though! I'm a little jealous.

Oh, it was! But I must have been at least your age before I started travelling, there's plenty of time for you to get to do that too.

[Disciple would very much like to get closer to her, to give her a hug to fend off all that wariness she senses from the younger troll. But she knows that Nepeta needs to get used to her in her own time, so she just smiles at her and leads her through the hive to start their little tour.]

This is the food preparation block over here - the cupboards are pretty well stocked for now so just help yourself until you get used to the place, okay?

[Nepeta follows along dutifully, thankful for the distraction to shoo away their past topic of conversation. she didn't really want to think about the unlikeliness of her ever traveling.

she looks at everything pointed out to her with keen interest. she's really quite curious about this whole world, and her new hive is as good a place to start with as any.]

Sure thing! Although I hope that I can get used to things quickly enough that I can start getting my own stuff for meals; it'd be nice to have one together.

I'm sure that you will! If there's anything in particular you want in the meantime just let me know and I'll get it for you. We can visit the markets and shops first of all when we go exploring, that way you'll know where everything is.

[She gets a packet of cookies down from a cupboard, opening it up and offering it to Nepeta with a grin.]

And yes, of course we can do that! We'll invite Equius too, if you'd like that.

Oh yes, I'd clawsitively love for him to be there too! It hasn't been that long for me since I last saw him, but I guess from his perspective it's been a while.

[she takes a cookie or two thankfully, mouth twisting up in confusion]

At least, I think that's how it works. I'm no good at time shenanigans.

[Disciple takes a bite of a cookie of her own, looking pensive.]

We only started arriving here a few weeks ago. It probably hasn't been too long for him. But I think he's been missing you anyway.

Even a few weeks can feel like a while if you're away from someone really close to you. [she nibbles on the edge of a cookie thoughtfully]

At least that's how I'd feel if it were me.

That's true. I was only separated from my beloved for a day or so before he was brought here too, but even that much felt like forever.

[faker]

Oh gosh, I can imagine! It really hurts not knowing when you're going to see people again.

[whomheloved]

It does! I was really worried at first, not knowing when I'd get to see him again, when I'd get to see any of my friends here. But I've been lucky enough that most of us have been brought together again. [Even if...in less than a whole and healthy state.]

[faker]

I'm happy that things worked out for you! [she grins] Hopefully I can be as lucky; this place seems a lot nicer than where we were before.

Your moirail is here, that's already a good start! And it is pretty nice here, so much nicer than Alternia. No one cares about the hemospectrum - well, except for a couple of highblooded trolls. But what they think about it doesn't matter. No one's going to get culled or treated badly just because of their blood colour.

Are you serious? Is that really a thing? [she seems a lot more attentive than she was a moment before, her voice a little bit...urgent, almost.]

Of course. [Her voice softens, trying to be reassuring.] Trolls are in a minority here, and most other races only have one colour, they don't even know what the hemospectrum is. Maybe one or two trolls have made a fuss about it, but every other one I've spoken to believes in equality across the spectrum.

[faker]

Oh. [she's still for a moment, letting this news sink in. then her face slowly melts into a wide smile, the sort of expression worn by people who have just received an unexpected new lease on life]

Then I think I'm really going to like it here.

[Di beams. Seeing that look on Nepeta's face gives her a warm feeling in her chest. Oh, if only they could succeed in their message back home! It would all be worth it if it made young trolls smile like this.]

I hope you will! Nepeta...can I give you a hug? [She's proud she remembered to ask first - being around Signless and his easy, constant physical affection makes her forget sometimes. Potential descendant or not, hugging a troll you've just met isn't high on things to do of anyone with a survival instinct.]

[Nepeta hesitates for a moment. she does want a hug, always seems to be finding herself in situations where she'd love to dole out physical affection but was stopped by fear.

but...the hemospectrum didn't matter, right? even if someone did knock off her hood someday it wouldn't do anything more than ruffle her hair. she was finally safe.

so she nods, clearly excited]

Yes, you clawsitively can.

Oh, thank you! [She laughs, the sound happy and carefree as she does what she's wanted to since meeting Nepeta: folding her arms around her and cradling her in a warm, comforting hug.]
