This meme is taking place in the setting of Darstone, so while you may leave your comment blank, I'd like to recommend you set up a scene or two in your initial comment. Some suggested settings are provided below, but make up whatever you'd like based off the setting pages! ⑴ Job Hunting. If you don't want to stay in the assigned housing, then you're going to need cash, and if you want cash, you're going to need a job- lucky for you there seem to be plenty of those on the job board. ⑵ Arriving/Housing. You've just gotten here and finally made it to your assigned apartment, but it turns out you have roommates, and they're one of them. ⑶ Adventuring. Whether out into the surrounding caves or taking a boat onto the lake, you're adventuring, maybe on a quest. Whoever's with you might be a member of your party-- or they might be trying to beat you to the reward.

Anyway, A'aladash -- or Aala for short -- is a tall, imposing, red-shaded Kra'shak. She also happens to be the chief of police, but she doesn't look particularly official right now. She's in her civvies, which amounts to a loose tunic and pants with enough room for her tail to lash behind her, nothing identifiable on her marking her as a cop.

She points a claw at a passerby -- you.] Hey. One of those newbies, right? I'm going to ask you some questions. Come sit with me.

[Wow it is hard to read the lips of a person who isn't actually a person but a giant lizard. Justin stares dumbly at her, and then slowly arches an eyebrow.]

[She'll at least take that choice if she can, leaning idly against the side of a chair. One hand automatically comes up to her mouth, and she speaks around the nail she's biting, eyes half-lidded, expression bored.]

[For all that she's content to let the mirror get a good glimpse of her, Sis doesn't actually bother speaking. Instead she adjusts her glasses impassively, and then switches to text.]

While I cannot say I do not appreciate the effort put into bringing me here, or the renewed chance at life, I fear I cannot face this without a healthy dose of skepticism. Things like this do not usually come without a price, though I doubt it's honestly one so simple as 'helping out' should we so choose to do so.

However, I will do my best to keep my cynicism to myself until such a time as a hearty and thorough 'I told you so' is warranted.

In the meantime, does anyone know a place that may need a writer or an editor? I'm afraid I'm a little too used to my usual accommodations to tolerate the free rooming we've so generously been given for any longer than absolutely necessary.

You can't be blamed for skepticism as it's only natural under such questionable circumstances, but I can assure you from what I know thus far they mean what they say. There has been no indication otherwise as of yet and I get the feeling it's going to stay that way. There are those it would be best to keep an eye out for, but those fall more under the category of other questionable guests here rather than the natural inhabitants themselves. Though there are a few of those you should be careful around as well, but that goes the same as is with any species. While I'm sure you can barely contain your anticipation for your "I told you so" moment, you probably shouldn't hold your breath on that one.

I'm afraid I can't help you on the matter of searching for work, only warn that you may be better off in your shared apartment for a while as the cheapest places here are in rather unsatisfactory areas of the city.

Also avoid straying too far into the caves outside the city. The monsters are easy enough to handle, but the vengeful ghosts can be a bitch.

She scoffed at the collective hive they had expected her to live in. Still she walk in through the narrow hallway that led to her new respite block and swung the door open.

[Summoner couldn't beleive he was being relocated yet again. And sure enough this place was just as shabby and close-cornered as the last one. Really, he puts in a formal complaint and all that happens is he ends up worse off. Stupid cave land. If he had his way he'd set up another revolution against how mistreating the people in this land were to those they brought in.

Well, no, okay, that was a big fat lie. In all truth this place was a shitton better then anything Alternia had to give. And he guessed he sort of appreciated it? Even if they forced him to make his horns smaller by use of magic.

Just cause his horns were cumbersome didn't mean he didn't like them.

But all this silly thinking of his had gotten him distracted. Not even realizing his new roomie was already unpacking behind that large pile of boxes.

[So he's been there for a while, maybe a few weeks, and has settled more or less without incident into the third bedroom at their little townhouse. Willow's starting to feel like this place is too small with all the hectic running around and incestuous drama and Feferi bringing home tentacle pets. But they can't move again, they just moved, so she decides to hit two birds with one stone: get some time to herself, and get to know Karkat a little better.

She has to admit she's curious. And very determinedly not being jealous that so many of Eridan's close friends are showing up, and none of hers. Nope. Supportive girlfriend here.

Willow knocks on his door, and doesn't wait before poking her head in. She's a tiny, nervous, redheaded thing at the moment.]

[Sora straightened up and folded his arms as he thought in silence for a bit. Meow wow started whining softly rolled by his feet making Sora smile gently before reaching down to scratch the Spirit's tummy.]

Regardless of where he is or what laws have been broken to get him there, Nicholas is still first and foremost a cop. A cop with plenty of time on his hands, as he is not a member of the police service here -which frustrates him to no end, because really, if he is going to be abducted to assist anywhere they could at least let him do the work he knows best- and nothing in particular to investigate. So he's acquired a copy of the city's legal code and is occupying a seat outside a café with a glass of cranberry juice to study the laws.

Of course, if he sees anyone obviously breaking any sort of laws, he will flag them down. Although Nicholas is just suspicious enough of everyone and everything that even a person who simply looks out of place is going to be regarded with suspicion, if not outright stopped.

He'll likely end up making quite the scene of he keeps this up and stops the wrong person without having the authority of Darstone's police service to back him up.

If Nicholas wanted someone who looked suspicious, England certainly fit that bill at the moment. He looked disoriented, one arm wrapped around the waist as he trudged down the street. He looked... drugged? Drunk? Just tired? All he was trying to do was get home.
