This meme is taking place in the setting of Darstone, so while you may leave your comment blank, I'd like to recommend you set up a scene or two in your initial comment. Some suggested settings are provided below, but make up whatever you'd like based off the setting pages! ⑴ Job Hunting. If you don't want to stay in the assigned housing, then you're going to need cash, and if you want cash, you're going to need a job- lucky for you there seem to be plenty of those on the job board. ⑵ Arriving/Housing. You've just gotten here and finally made it to your assigned apartment, but it turns out you have roommates, and they're one of them. ⑶ Adventuring. Whether out into the surrounding caves or taking a boat onto the lake, you're adventuring, maybe on a quest. Whoever's with you might be a member of your party-- or they might be trying to beat you to the reward.

England wouldn't mind either way. But he doesn't have to know everything. Just meeting such a man from his country is most satisfying. It makes him feel a bit stronger, even if he actually isn't.

"You take your job seriously."

That is a statement he has heard numerous times, in many variations. "Someone has to. Otherwise laws would be broken without any regard, because who would enforce them?"

The edge to his voice suggests that he is thinking of specific instances as he speaks. Then again, for a while, Nicholas had been quite convinced that most cops simply did not take their jobs seriously enough.

He eyes Nicholas out of the corner of his eyes, smirking softly. This man needed to be on the police force here in Darstone. Then England could have an inside. This did not mean he was looking to use Nicholas, it only meant that he could keep more watchful eyes on Germany, Prussia, and whoever else wanted to help them.

Maybe, with Angel assisting the police, England could be able to help.

He sighed once more as they neared the apartments. They weren't far from the hospital after all. "You should think about joining the force... here."

That makes his expression draw tight. "Yes, well, I had considered that. However, it appears that despite the government here wanting our assistance, they refuse to actually allow me to help using the skills I have." In other words, Nicholas was told that he could not be a police officer. Perhaps once he gets to know people better, he will be able to work something out.

Until then, he is not entirely sure what he is going to do for employment. Certainly he doesn't want to remain unemployed, but his skill set is rather fine tuned. There aren't many options out there for a police officer who can no longer be a police officer.

England rubs at his chest, frowning at both the pain and also Angel's answer. He knows about the government here, but if Prussia and Willow and Stein could get involved, then there must have been a chance for Nicholas, as well. "I will speak to miss Rosenberg," he says as he turns toward the building. "See if we can't... Work out this little bump, yeah?"

"You know someone who works for the government?" For most people, they would consider this a sign that their day is looking up. Nicholas, on the other hand... "I'm afraid I can't let you do that. Never mind that we hardly know each other beyond being countrymen; it would be improper for you to use your connections to get me a job that I would otherwise not be considered qualified for."

Even if it really bothers him that he is not considered qualified for police service here by mere virtue of the fact that he was abducted.

Hmph. What a bother. England was only trying to help his citizen! He cares for all of them. Was it so bad he wanted to step in and help? He shrugs, considering talking to Willow anyway. If nothing comes of it, Angel wouldn't have to know.

"Yes, well, it was just a thought, after all." But then he smiles at Nicholas again. "Thank you for walking me home."

Making sure that Angel doesn't know of it would perhaps be best. He is fairly strict about making sure the rules are followed, and whilst he may have relaxed somewhat in Sandford, he has no desire to break the law here. After all, if the government has no problems with kidnapping, then what other punishments might they mete out?

"You're welcome. Have a good day, and stay safe." He nods crisply. "If there is anything else I can help with, I believe these mirrors they gave us are supposed to act in place of a cell or a computer, so you can reach me using them."

There was that word again. Computer. England would need to find out what that was eventually. He nods just as crisply back to the officer, despite still feeling woozy.

"They do work. You can leave messages and talk privately to people and all kinds of things. So, if you also need assistance, do not hesitate to contact me." And then they could have afternoon tea together!
