Test Drive Meme v.2
![]() |
Comment here with your characters that you're thinking of bringing into LR, and tag around with other people to see how suitable they'd be for the game! This meme is taking place in the setting of Darstone, so while you may leave your comment blank, I'd like to recommend you set up a scene or two in your initial comment. Some suggested settings are provided below, but make up whatever you'd like based off the setting pages! ⑴ Job Hunting. If you don't want to stay in the assigned housing, then you're going to need cash, and if you want cash, you're going to need a job- lucky for you there seem to be plenty of those on the job board. ⑵ Arriving/Housing. You've just gotten here and finally made it to your assigned apartment, but it turns out you have roommates, and they're one of them. ⑶ Adventuring. Whether out into the surrounding caves or taking a boat onto the lake, you're adventuring, maybe on a quest. Whoever's with you might be a member of your party-- or they might be trying to beat you to the reward. |

"It's good to meet you," replied England. "I really am alright, though... I'm strong enough to... handle a little pain."
no subject
"I'm certain you are," not, is what he wants to add to that, but Nicholas doesn't actively try to piss people off without good cause. And certainly, Mr Kirkland might be more cooperative if Nicholas agrees with him. "However, it isn't necessarily safe for you to be alone in this state. For instance, you see that ... uh... woman? over there?"
He gestures, pointing to one of the Huglu. This one does seem to be quite nervous, if not outright shifty in demeanour. "Judging by her actions, I would suspect that she could be looking for a weak target to accost. Several times she has approached someone, only to back away if a crowd approaches or someone who appears to be strong draws near."

"Well, I'm certainly not one to argue with an officer of the law," he says as he wobbles again. The medicine is wearing off. "If you wish to accompany me to my flat, then I suppose I shouldn't argue."

"If you don't find it too forward... Might I ask what year you are from? You see, the people here... they are from different time periods, or different worlds, or whatever. I, myself... In my time, the year is 1942."
no subject
Although, he would have expected to hear that year being mentioned by someone obviously many years his senior. "The year was 2007 when they abducted me. So I imagine the country has changed quite a bit from what you remember."
That would, at the least, explain why Kirkland did not seem to recognise his uniform.

For now, Nicholas doesn't feel like discussing Sandford. It helps that this Englishman is entirely unfamiliar with modern uniforms, so he won't realise that Nicholas' insignia point to him being a member of the Sandford Police Department, and not the Metropolitan.

"You take your job seriously."
no subject
The edge to his voice suggests that he is thinking of specific instances as he speaks. Then again, for a while, Nicholas had been quite convinced that most cops simply did not take their jobs seriously enough.

Maybe, with Angel assisting the police, England could be able to help.
He sighed once more as they neared the apartments. They weren't far from the hospital after all. "You should think about joining the force... here."

Until then, he is not entirely sure what he is going to do for employment. Certainly he doesn't want to remain unemployed, but his skill set is rather fine tuned. There aren't many options out there for a police officer who can no longer be a police officer.

Even if it really bothers him that he is not considered qualified for police service here by mere virtue of the fact that he was abducted.
no subject
"Yes, well, it was just a thought, after all." But then he smiles at Nicholas again. "Thank you for walking me home."
no subject
"You're welcome. Have a good day, and stay safe." He nods crisply. "If there is anything else I can help with, I believe these mirrors they gave us are supposed to act in place of a cell or a computer, so you can reach me using them."
no subject
"They do work. You can leave messages and talk privately to people and all kinds of things. So, if you also need assistance, do not hesitate to contact me." And then they could have afternoon tea together!
